Jonas Lüscher was born in Switzerland in 1976 and lives in Munich. His novella "Spring of the Barbarians" was a bestseller, was longlisted for the German Book Prize and was nominated for the Swiss Book Prize. Lüscher's novel "Kraft" won the Swiss Book Prize. He was awarded the Rheingau Literature Prize for his novel "Verzauberte Vorbestimmung". Jonas Lüscher has also received the Hans Fallada Prize, the Prix Franz Hessel, the Max Frisch Prize of the City of Zurich and the Marieluise Fleißer Prize, among others. His books have been translated into over twenty languages.
