After a long break and many TV appearances with Rod Stewart, Jools Holland is going on a short European tour again in March 2025. As part of this tour, the piano master will also show on Saturday, March 15 in the Old Casino of the Sauerlandpark Hemer that no orchestra is needed, but that a great musician and his piano alone can captivate people. Holland will be supported only by the singers Ruby Turner, Louise Marshall and Sumudu Jayatilaka. Klaxon's drummer George Latham sits on the drums.
The celebrated musician, bandleader and TV host Jools Holland pays homage to all kinds of musical styles such as boogie-woogie, stride piano (a solo piano style from the early days of jazz), blues, swing and R&B.
If anyone knows his stuff, it's him: With his BBC show 'Later... with Jools Holland', the TV star, pianist and bandleader has shaped the most iconic music show in Europe. From Amy Winehouse, Ed Sheeran and Adele to Bono, Pearl Jam and BB King, he has had them all on his show. That is why he is definitely considered the best in his field and was awarded the Order of the British Empire by Queen Elizabeth II in June 2003 for his outstanding services to the British music industry.
In September 2011, he released a compilation especially for the German-speaking market which, in the best 'Later...with Jools Holland' tradition, presented a whole series of top acts, including Eric Clapton, Sting, David Gilmour, Nick Cave, Tom Jones and many other international greats. But Jools Holland also came up with a sensational surprise, as the album included artists from Germany for the first time: Roger Cicero, Ina Müller, The Baseballs, Axel & Torsten Zwingenberger were among them. Herbert Grönemeyer was represented with two songs, including a wonderful cover version of Randy Newman's Marie.
His current album 'Swing Fever', which he recorded with none other than Sir Rod Stewart, was in the top 10 of the album charts in almost all European countries - and even reached number one in the UK for the first time in his career.
