For more than 30 years, jazz guitarist and singer Jörg Seidel from Bremerhaven has been following in the footsteps of the famous pianist and singer Nat King Cole and is regarded as the most accomplished exponent of this style in the German-speaking world. The renowned musician, who worked closely with Bill Ramsey for 16 years and has been on tour with the well-known actor and singer Ron Williams since 2007, has played and sung his way into the top echelons of swing over the years.
The "German Jazzpages" called him the "...currently outstanding European jazz singer" and the WAZ wrote years ago that Seidel was the "Tal Farlow of the swing revival". Jörg Seidel plays in the classic trio line-up with guitar, piano and double bass in the sound idiom of the model trio and has released several CDs with this line-up over the years on his own label "Swingland-Records", the most recent of which, released in 2019, was nominated for the German Record Critics' Award.
A sonorous singing voice, a swinging rhythm guitar, a sparkling piano and a driving bass - that's all it takes to celebrate a great hour of chamber music swing, which is given added entertainment value by witty moderation. US swing star John Pizzarelli wrote about Jörg Seidel: "Joerg builds up bridges to the King Cole Trio. I could have told you: Nat is in best hands here." There is nothing to add to that.
