30 young jazz talents, a rousing sound

For nearly 40 years, the Lower Saxony Youth Jazz Orchestra “Wind Machine” has been thrilling audiences with its energetic big band jazz. Around 30 young musicians between the ages of 13 and 25 from across the state bring swing classics to the stage alongside modern and contemporary compositions. Over 400 concerts, CD recordings, and international tours have shaped Wind Machine’s history. With its current program, “True Sounds,” the ensemble—under the direction of Uli Plettendorff—takes you on a musical journey between tradition and modernity—dynamic, authentic, and sincere. Powerful brass sections, subtle timbres, and plenty of enthusiasm make the evening at HALLE 19 a diverse big band experience.
