Julia Hornung & Collectif Django stand for music whose joy of playing is transferred directly to the audience - light-footed, lively and full of dialog. This creates closeness: between the musicians as well as between the stage and the audience.

Gypsy Swing goes back to the legendary guitarist Django Reinhardt and the Paris of the 1930s: a music between café house, dance floor and jazz club, characterized by rhythmic energy, clear melodies and improvisational freedom. Julia Hornung & Collectif Django take up this flair - not as a nostalgic retrospective, but as a timeless, contemporary sound language.

At the center are Julia Hornung and Turin guitarist Giangiacomo Rosso, two of the most distinguished soloists on the European gypsy swing scene. Carried by a bouncy groove, a fine sense of dynamics and great musical openness, the quartet unfolds a sound that effortlessly combines tradition and the present. Raffael Müller provides the pulsating drive on the rhythm guitar, while Jurek Zimmermann sets concise accents with a warm tone and narrative lines.

The interplay thrives on attentive listening, spontaneous moments and an energy that spreads from the stage directly into the audience.
