Reggae from Jamaica: Julian Marley

Marley - no other name is so inextricably linked with reggae. Following in the tradition of his famous father Bob Marley, Julian Marley is a devout Rastafarian whose music and life are characterized by spirituality. Marley is a humanist and philanthropist who draws musical inspiration from many cultures while always remaining Rastafarian.

Bob Marley's youngest son was born in London in 1975. He spent his childhood between England, where his mother Lucy Pounder lived, and Jamaica. He learned to play the keyboard, drums, bass, guitar and other instruments at an early age and recorded his first demo tape in the Marley family studio in Jamaica at the tender age of five.

Together with his brothers Ziggy, Damian and Stephen, he founded the record company Ghetto Youth, which supports young talent from the poorer regions of the world. His first solo album "Lion In The Morning" was released in 1996, followed by a world tour. With his fifth album "Colors of Royal", Julian Marley won the coveted Grammy music award for the best reggae album in 2024.
