Junge Symphonie Siegburg - Humperdinck Uraufführung!
In the organizer's words:
At the heart of the concert by the Siegburg Youth Symphony is the world premiere of an unfinished work by the great Siegburg composer, Engelbert Humperdinck. "Rural Scenes. Tanz und Keilerei" from the suite "Sommerabend im Dorfe", exists only as an incomplete manuscript and was commissioned by the Engelbert Humperdinck Music Workshop and completed by the composer David Kühn.
David Kühn is a prizewinner of the Siegburg Composition Competition, was a student of the preparatory department of the Engelbert Humperdinck Music School for many years and is currently studying composition at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz, Cologne.
The program also includes excerpts from the - unjustly - little-performed opera "Königskinder" and from Leonard Bernstein's "West Side Story"
And we will be happy to reveal what Humperdinck has to do with America at the concert!
