Junior Jam 2025: The final of Germany's biggest children's bouldering competition will take place on June 21 at the new Boulderwelt Hamburg

Next Saturday, 21 June 2025, the Boulderwelt Hamburg will become the center of North German children's bouldering: At the Junior Jam 2025, around 800 young climbing talents from all over Northern Germany will compete against each other in Germany's largest children's bouldering competition. 19 bouldering halls from Hamburg, Bremen, Lower Saxony and Schleswig-Holstein, among others, took part in the qualifying series and are now battling it out with their respective final teams in the grand final at the new Boulderwelt Hamburg.

About the Junior Jam competition

The Junior Jam is a competition series for children born between 2012 and 2017, which is divided into three age groups

• Youth E (2016/2017)
• Youth D (2014/2015)
• Youth C (2012/2013)

Junior Jam is not just about physical performance, but also about team spirit, motivation and having fun with exercise. In each age group, the three best children - each with at least one girl and one boy - qualify for the final. There, the participants face 20 challenging bouldering problems that have to be solved as a team. The three best teams then compete against each other in the super final - an exciting showdown with extra points and lots of applause!

Participating halls & range

19 renowned bouldering halls from all over northern Germany - from Flensburg to Göttingen - have held their own qualifications. The kids are among the best young boulderers in their region.

The Boulderwelt Hamburg, which reopened in December 2024, is organizing the final on a voluntary basis together with the DAV Nord. The hall is Hamburg's largest bouldering hall and offers ideal conditions for sports enthusiasts of all ages - from beginners to ambitious athletes - with over 2,000 m² of climbing space, its own children's area, a training zone and a cozy café area.

Boulderwelt is particularly committed to promoting young talent: weekly children's courses, vacation camps and age-appropriate events such as the Junior Jam are firmly anchored in the program. Not only is there a lot of passion for climbing here - a lively community is being built up - right in the heart of Hamburg at Berliner Tor.
