K-Pop

In the organizer's words:

K-Pop is a Korean genre of music that has taken over the world in recent years and draws on a wide range of popular music styles. It emphasises on choreography where all the artists dance in sync and it is about creativity, teamwork, precision, energy and passion. This Public Moves class is for everyone who wants to know more about K-Pop dance culture and exchange positive energy.

Esther Jeong is a dancer, choreographer and teacher from South Korea. She majored in Jazz, Contemporary and Korean dance. She has been teaching since 2011. In 2014 she started to perform K-Pop dance in Singapore. After returning to Korea she focused more on teaching. She has taught K-Pop and Jazz dance in institutions, including high schools and dance academies all over in South Korea. Her students have won awards in various competitions. Over the years of teaching and performing, she participated in many projects and awards-winning events herself. This includes choreography and appearance in the play Fox Fox, which won second place at the Korean National Theater Festival. She also performed in Cartier Gala show (2017) and the 12th Critic’s Choice Dance Festival (2018). In 2019, Esther moved to Berlin, where she extended her knowledge and experience in dance by taking classes, joining local performances, delving into a new culture, and hosting K-Pop workshops.

She managed her own dance academy in Incheon from 2020 to 2022, which taught various genres of dance, including the beloved K-Pop dance classes. Her most recent K-Pop performance was the BTS:PTD ON THE STANGE-LA Screening Stage hosted by Disney Plus in 2022.

Now she is based in Vienna, where she performs, teaches dance and yoga, and leads Movera Dance Studio as its founder.
