The DISTEL annual review 2026

For over 70 years, the Berlin cabaret theater DISTEL has stood for satire with its finger on the pulse of the times like almost no other institution in Germany. From the end of 2024, the capital city cabaret will be producing a recurring annual review in which the topics of the year will once again be put under the magnifying glass of humor.

When, if not now! That is the motto of this year's DISTEL cabaret review, which will once again grace the stages of the republic after its brilliant start last year. And what kind of year was 2026?

2026 was the year in which many certainties vanished into thin air and the world changed in a breathtaking staccato. But the DISTEL ensemble with Jens Neutag, Axel Pätz and Katharina Martin manages the almost impossible: they manage to pack all the political twists and turns and the madness of everyday life into a fast-paced cabaret program of 2×50 minutes. Always under the motto: When, if not now!

"Gut im Abgang" is entertaining, musical and, if need be, opinionated. And by the way, the ensemble keeps a promise: This review of the year is definitely better than the year itself!
