Is there a German rock band whose songs have hardly lost any of their relevance even after more than 50 years?

Probably not many, but certainly one: TON STEINE SCHERBEN. After their dissolution (1985), two original SCHERBEN still tour through German-speaking countries today: founding member Kai Sichtermann (bass, since 1970) and drummer Funky K. Götzner (from 1974, now cajón, percussion). Since spring 2023 they have been playing together with singer-songwriter Birte Volta (vocals, guitar). Birte internalizes both the folk blues and the rock'n'roll that emerged from it with passion and poetry and draws on many years of street and stage experience at home and abroad, with her solo project and as a singer and guitarist in various formations of these genres (including BM STEREO).

The year 2025 is the 75th birthday of the deceased SCHERBEN founding members Rio Reiser (vocals) and RPS Lanrue (guitar) - the trio will play their concerts in special memory of these two songwriters.

The band TON STEINE SCHERBEN has inspired and is played and covered often and everywhere. The originals Kai & Funky, with singer Birte Volta, perform in clubs and at festivals and inspire with their authentic, unmistakable sound with the repertoire of Rio Reiser and the SCHERBEN. The trio keeps the memories of a rebellious time alive: songs in the front row! Pure legend!
