Irma Neumüller is a Swedish jazz singer and composer who writes music in both Swedish and English, breathing new life into the traditional jazz sound with her own personal touch. The music is lively, uplifting and sometimes emotional. With her strong stage presence, Irma welcomes the entire audience into her musical world.
Irma Neumüller was born in Stockholm in 2001 and began her musical journey with classical music when she started playing the cello at the age of four. After twelve years as a cellist, she also opened her eyes to jazz and its vocal tradition. Irma studied jazz singing at Södra Latin High School in Stockholm and two years at the nationally renowned Skurup Pre-College before moving to Berlin, where she is currently studying at the Jazz Institut Berlin.
In recent years, Irma Neumüller has been successful on stages all over Sweden and Germany, including playing at the Radioeins Parkfest 2024 in Berlin. She was named "Young Swedish Soloist 2023" by the Swedish performing arts organization "Scenkonst Sörmland", received several scholarships, including the JIB Jazz Scholarship 2024 and is regularly praised by jazz critics. In 2024, Irma also won the Sandviken BigBand Scholarship, which is very popular in Sweden, and is also delighted to have been accepted into the highly recognized Bundesjazzorchester (BuJazzO) in Germany. Since 2025 she has been a scholarship holder of YEHUDI MENUHIN Live Music Now-Berlin e.V., and was also awarded first prize at the "Gesobau Jazz & Soul Awards".
Her debut album "Introducing Irma Neumüller" was released on February 23, 2024 on the well-known and renowned Swedish label Naxos/Prophone.
