In this special tour of the Kampnagel site, artistic director Amelie Deuflhard guides us through 40 years of artistic practice in a place that has made history itself: From a former engineering company to an internationally renowned production house for performative arts. Between rusty industrial charm and future construction site, Deuflhard tells of political utopias, aesthetic border crossings and institutional friction. She talks about the early days of the independent scene in the 1980s, international festivals, queer-feminist practices, post-colonial perspectives and artistic resistance - and how all of this has shaped this place. The tour is both a look back and a look forward: a collective remembrance of what was - and a curious look at what can become when Kampnagel soon enters a new architectural phase. A walk through spaces, stories and visions - guided by someone who has been helping to write them for almost two decades.
