For Kirill Petrenko, the Karajan Academy of the Berliner Philharmoniker is a matter close to his heart. In regular concerts, he passes on his passion, his experience and his approach to music-making to the orchestra's young musicians. Kirill Petrenko is now working with the Academy on Schubert's Fourth Symphony, a work by the 19-year-old composer full of urgent drama and lyrical moments. Before that, chamber music is on the program: Debussy's only string quartet, Ibert's lively and witty Trois Pièces brèves and Ravel's sensuous Introduction et Allegro for harp, flute, clarinet and string quartet.
