In the organizer's words:

In times when right-wing parties are planning deportations and so-called centrist parties are only adding fuel to an already blazing fire instead of putting it out, there is fortunately also a broad mass of people taking to the streets - which is not only a sign of the actual social opinion in the country (which is distorted, spurred on by far too loud opinion-making on the internet), but also promotes cohesion among the many and gives courage to those who fall into a paralysis of fear out of fear of exclusion or due to a difficult environment.
Protests in the form of demonstrations are important and the lowest-threshold form of resistance against anti-social and right-wing tendencies. However, we must not forget that there are many other actors who are actively working to preserve a better world. With this event, we want to bring together the comforting feeling of a demonstration and the importance of social projects by treating ourselves to a nice evening with good music and donating all proceeds to the Bavarian Refugee Council. The drum & didgeridoo project SPICY CHAKALAKA was founded in spring 2021 by the two long-time friends Emanuel Fendl (drums) and Tom Rauch (didgeridoo/flute/percussion) in idyllic Glonn. Emanuel, former drummer of the Ebersberg punk band "Arm the Homeless", rediscovered his love for drums after a few years. Tom found his enthusiasm for the traditional instrument of the Australian Aborigines on his adventurous travels over many years. After several small jam sessions, the idea for the project quickly formed. In the summer of the same year, the duo celebrated its premiere at the "Unruhiges Hinterland" festival in Schattenhofen near Moosach. The driving and danceable grooves are joined by various elements such as djembe and native style flutes. SPICY CHAKALAKA, whose name is based on a dish from African cuisine, interweave both energetic and mystical elements in their sets and invite you to dance with their multi-faceted world music. The DIRTY RED BANDANAS invite you to dance on rooftops, hot chocolate in your kitchen and trips to the supermarket. They play eclectic indie pop from Munich's rehearsal rooms, basements and shared flats. Sometimes dreamy and melancholic, sometimes loud and energetic: the six young musicians like to experiment musically.
