Persian family ties

For his last concert of the season, resident artist Kian Soltani immerses himself in classical Persian music and thus in his family history: Soltani's parents came to Austria in the 1970s to study music. His father Khosro Soltani is a bassoonist and recorder player as well as a player of the Persian wind instruments ney and duduk. He plays with them in the ensemble Shiraz - which has been giving concerts together with Kian Soltani and his cello for several years.
