The neighborhood club starts the next round: MACH MIT!
"We don't work enough," says Friedrich Merz. Are we really too lazy? We calculate the laziness or performance of Neukölln residents using our own example and take a closer look at the mechanics of the working society: Why is working with machines often worth more than working with people? When are we considered hardworking? What does the much-vaunted "social hammock" actually look like? And what if we imagine it in a new and different way? A hammock in which there is room for everyone?
Whether you are in care, on a pension, receiving a citizen's allowance, doing care work at home or juggling several jobs at once - we want to develop a play together with you that critically negotiates the current debate about work, austerity policy and social security.
KIEZKLUB: lazy and hard-working starts in October 2025 under the direction of theater makers Sophia Maria Keßen and Margret Schütz. Together, we are developing an interactive performance with biographical texts, music and a movement choir. Premiere in January 2026.
We are looking for people between the ages of 18 and 99 who would like to engage artistically with the above-mentioned topics. No theater experience necessary!
