At KIKI ROCKWELL's concerts, you can scream your heart out about the injustices of this world or simply immerse yourself in fascinating stories of strong women. On April 15, the New Zealander will bring her mystical world to the stage of Im Wizemann in Stuttgart.

KIKI ROCKWELL'smusic tells of the forgotten heroines of history - of burnt witches, the protagonists of Greek mythology and the world of European fairy tales. She has created her very own world of sound in which she musically processes her powerful rage and captivates people all over the world. KIKI ROCKWELL is a true citizen of the world: born in San Francisco, she grew up in Germany and New Zealand.

After enjoying initial success with her band The Leers, the Auckland-based artist finally began her solo career. The turning point came after a painful separation: a storm cut the internet connection and she was alone at home with just her guitar. In this intense loneliness, an inner dam broke and she wrote song after song in a creative burst. She taught herself to produce and released her debut EP "Bleeding Out In A Forest" in November 2021.

The entire project brings together the many influences of her musical background: The blues that her father loves and the world music of her mother are combined with her own interpretations of folk and medieval rock. The focus is always on her storytelling and powerful portrayal of female perspectives - whether historical, mythical or fairytale-inspired. Rockwell's musical style is often dark and mysterious, with chorus-like vocals and enigmatic lyric lines interspersed like fleeting shadows between the melodies of various instruments, all recorded by KIKI ROCKWELL herself.

With her debut album "Rituals On The Bank Of A Familiar River", the musician refined her universe even further. The single release "Burn Your Village" was celebrated by many as an anthem of female rage. The second album "Eldest Daughter of An Eldest Daughter" also builds on the sound and imagery of its predecessors and focuses on the struggle of women against male power structures. In KIKI ROCKWELL'sworld, the women always win in the end. And although her songs often convey angry messages, the music remains imbued with a dark beauty.
