Producing fewer greenhouse gases is certainly the most important measure to combat climate change. But that alone is no longer enough: If we want to limit global warming to well below 2 degrees Celsius, we humans must also actively remove CO2 from the atmosphere and store it for a long time. Germany is also preparing for this. But how exactly is this to be done? Is it enough to plant more trees? Can CO2 be stored in rock flour? Can we rely on CO2 filter systems? But where do we store the CO2 in the end? Professor Julia Pongratz and her team will answer these questions.
