A decade after the last KINGSTON HOT in 2016, SENTINEL is reviving the legendary era of Stuttgart’s dancehall culture for one night. After all, what would an exhibition about Stuttgart’s reggae and dancehall scene be without a real dance? The evening takes place as part of theBIG TINGSexhibition, which runs from July 18 to October 11, 2026, documenting the history and development of Stuttgart’s reggae, dancehall, and soundsystem culture between 2000 and 2012. While photographs, archival materials, and memorabilia tell the story of the scene during the day, the evening will once again be dedicated to what this culture was created for: celebrating big tunes, feeling the bass, and giving the soundboys and soundgirls a proper “forward.”
The lineup is as exceptional as ever, as befits one of Germany’s most influential dancehall parties.
SUPERSONIC SOUNDhas been one of Germany’s most important reggae and dancehall sounds since the late 1990s. The Berlin-based crew made a name for itself with internationally acclaimed mixtapes, exclusive dubplates, and performances around the world.
World ChampionSENTINEL SOUNDis also among Europe’s most internationally successful sounds. Together with numerous Jamaican and international guests, the Stuttgart crew has shaped the legendary reputation of KINGSTON HOT far beyond the city limits.
TERRITORY SOUNDrounds out the night with a handpicked Stuttgart mix of reggae, dancehall, dub, jungle, and exclusive remixes.
The music will be played on the massiveKing Crucial sound system. It was created for the KulturRegion Stuttgart’sÜber:morgencultural festival on the initiative of Elmar Jäger and built by Jürgen “Blacky” Becker.
The KINGSTON HOT event series debuted in 2000 at the Zollamt club in Bad Cannstatt. Together with a handful of influential events in Cologne, Hamburg, and Berlin, it laid the foundation for the German dancehall and reggae club scene. Even before moving to the legendary Rocker 33 at Stuttgart’s main train station in 2009, KINGSTON HOT was already one of Germany’s most popular monthly dancehall events. In November 2016, after sixteen years, the series came to an end with a joyful look back at nearly 100 events and a shared sense among the Stuttgart scene that they had created and experienced something truly great together.
On September 12, KINGSTON HOT is now returning for BIG TINGS: as a nostalgic look back at an extraordinary era and as a true soundsystem dance party that brings this culture back to the dance floor once again.
