A co-production of Dschungel Wien & UNUSUAL BEINGS & Dance Revolution East Africa
A powerful dance piece that explores boundaries and a journey into other dimensions of physicality and movement. It asks us and itself the questions: What is a perfect life, a perfect body, a perfect origin? What prevents us from developing our full potential?
Joseph walks with crutches. When he dances, he literally seems to fly. Maartje is rather small and delicate, but has the strength to climb the highest trees and Future has little money, but a voice that makes the world around him resound. Because, like a king or queen, everyone wears their crown in life.
The team deals with its own African, Indonesian, Iraqi and European origins and the colonial history associated with them. The play aims to break down fears and prejudices and thus enable different images, perceptions and attitudes towards people with different bodies and origins.
