The Belisama Quartet plays the String Quartet in A minor op. 13 by Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy and the String Quartet No. 1 in D major op. 11 by Peter Tchaikovsky.

Biographies :

HARUKA OUCHI was born in New York in 1995. From 2021-2023 she was principal

1st violins in the Giessen Philharmonic Orchestra and then moved to the 1st violin section

1st violins of the Dortmund Philharmonic Orchestra.

RIKA IKEMURA ( * 1993 ) comes from Japan. She studied violin in Würzburg and began her

her orchestral career as an academy member of the Staatskapelle Halle. After working in Stuttgart

and with the Neue Philharmonie Westfalen, she became principal 2nd violin with the

Dortmund Philharmonic Orchestra.

HANNA SCHUMACHER ( * 1992 ) comes from Düsseldorf and studied viola in Karlsruhe

and Dresden. After working as an academist in Essen and Bamberg, she was appointed to the

the viola section of the Dortmund Philharmonic Orchestra.

SOFIA LLUCIA ROY was born in Zaragoza, Spain, in 1994. She was an academist

with the Mahler Chamber Orchestra. In 2023, she joined the Dortmund Philharmonic as a trainee

Philharmoniker, where she is currently on a temporary contract.

About the string quartets :

Felix Mendelssohn wrote his String Quartet in A minor op.13 in 1827 at the age of 18

under the impression of Beethoven's death. His preoccupation with Beethoven's late string

quartets inspired him to experiment with form and content. Alongside the octet, the

A minor Quartet is his most important early work.

Peter Tchaikovsky wrote the String Quartet No. 1 in D major op. 11 at the suggestion of his friend Nikolai Rubinstein.
