Neue Musikzentrale Essen - Viehofer Pl. 18, 45127 Essen

Başak Merev (vocals/piano), Jakob Jentgens (saxophone), Orest Filipov (saxophone), and Ben Miller (guitar) perform traditional folk songs from Turkey, Ukraine, and Germany in this intercultural music project. The quartet creates a musical dialogue between the past and the present, evolution, deconstruction, and improvisation.
With influences from Bill Frisell and Jakob Bro, “Klang/Sound/Song” reflects the diversity of the Ruhr region on a musical level.
