We can try to understand music as a network of relationships. Concepts from the world of the family come to mind: families of instruments, harmonic - and disharmonic - relationships, related melodies, rhythms, chords...
The Resident Music Collective, fifteen musicians from different cultures living in Germany, have been inspired by the key questions of the exhibition "Beziehungsweise(n) Familie" for their latest program.
Slightly rephrased, they are: What music belongs to the culture we come from? How can we play together? Which voices are not heard? How can we transition from one musical thought to the next in a way that creates a connection? And who decides what's happening musically in a collective?
In the circle of musicians with their instruments from all directions, a concert is created for everyone. The musicians have contributed their own compositions or traditional pieces. The audience is invited to move around freely and to find their own relationship to the sound experience.
