Klappstuhlkino: Taxi Teheran
In the organizer's words:
Taxi Tehran
Iran 2014 Comedy Directed by Jafar Panahi 82 min
A taxi drives through the bustling streets of Tehran. The various passengers candidly share what’s on their minds: a movie smuggler is peddling the latest season of *The Walking Dead* and Woody Allen films; two elderly women want to release goldfish into a spring; and a sassy little girl explains her craving for a Frappuccino and the challenges she faces in completing a short film project for school. At the wheel is the director himself, who was sentenced in 2010 to a 20-year ban from the profession for “propaganda against the system” and is now, with a mysterious smile, creating a new film. Because a camera hidden on the dashboard is recording everything …
Every Friday evening from July 10 through August 14, it’s movie time!
Set against the historic walls of the honey factory and the maritime charm of the Vering Canal, our movie nights are back. Look forward to a carefully curated selection of films, fresh popcorn, and culinary treats that will make for the perfect movie night! And that’s true no matter the weather, because our courtyard is protected by a large sail canopy in case of bad weather! Blankets are also available just in case. So see, hear, smell, taste, and enjoy the summer together with lots of nice people and cinema for all the senses!
Free admission. (Donations welcome)
