Klassische Stadtführung durch die Lüneburger Altstadt
In the organizer's words:
The tour on June 27 has been canceled due to the expected heat!
Lüneburg: a medieval city, a proud Hanseatic city, and a modern university town.
Discover Lüneburg’s sights on a guided walking tour through the medieval quarters of the Old Town. We’ll start at the historic harbor on the Ilmenau River, where salt—the city’s “white gold”—was once shipped and which is now a popular meeting place for tourists and locals alike.
Along the way, an experienced guide will share informative and entertaining stories about the Hanseatic city, salt, and its residents. We’ll pass the magnificent gabled houses of the salt masters and brewmasters, walk through the quiet alleys of the subsidence area, and stroll along the historic city wall.
We’ll end the tour in the city center at the market square in front of the historic town hall with its magnificent Baroque façade.
Meeting point: Old Crane in the harbor on the Ilmenau
End point: Market Square
Start: 11:00 a.m.
End: 12:30 p.m.
We recommend arriving at the meeting point about 10 minutes before the tour begins. Please have your ticket ready (on your smartphone or printed out). The tour takes you through cobblestone streets, so we recommend wearing sturdy shoes.
The tour’s content is geared toward adults and teenagers; younger children are, of course, welcome to join, and children 8 years old and younger do not need their own ticket for the tour. Dogs on a leash are also allowed.
You can find more information about the tour on our website.
