Klaus Hoffmann - Ich bin

In the organizer's words:

Klaus Hoffmann - I am

- as a guest in Mülheim an der Ruhr

Over 50 years of stage work as an actor and singer Klaus Hoffmann releases his 51st album "Ich bin" on 28.11.2025 and goes on tour in Germany.

After graduating from secondary school in 1967, Klaus Hoffmann completed an apprenticeship as a wholesale merchant for steel and iron, with no prospect of escaping from a life as a bungler. But he had discovered the guitar for himself, learned a few fingerings, was fascinated by Bob Dylan, wrote his first lyrics and melodies and ended up touring the clubs of West Berlin.
Visually, the young Hoffmann had nothing to do with the fashion dictates of the beard of the time. Not even with the politically fashionable partisan singing. He eschewed all facial hair and instead perfected his songwriting. After completing his training, however, he first went on a real adventure trip in 1969. He wanted to go to Goa in a VW Beetle, but ended up in a war zone in Afghanistan and came back emaciated and burnt out.

In 1970, he began training as an actor at the renowned Max Reinhardt School in West Berlin and was soon celebrated as a shooting star of the acting scene. He had engagements at major theaters such as the Freie Volksbühne Berlin, the Hamburger Schauspielhaus and the Thalia Theater in Hamburg, and worked with top-class directors such as Kurt Hübner and Boy Gobert. But also with film greats such as Ingmar Bergman, in whose drama "The Serpent's Egg" he stood in front of the camera with the crème de la crème of European cinema. He was awarded the GOLDEN CAMERA and the BAMBI for the title role in the film adaptation of Ulrich Plenzdorf's "Die neuen Leiden des jungen W.".

He also worked intensively on his career as a singer-songwriter and singer, releasing his self-titled debut album in 1975, which has since been followed by over four dozen more.

His name is inextricably linked with Jacques Brel, his brother in spirit. Having remained down-to-earth, the musician now lives in Kladow with his wife Malene and various cats.

The songs from the new CD will be performed live. In addition, a selection of old songs and interludes will be presented as a colorful mix from 50 years. Anyone who has ever had the pleasure of experiencing Klaus Hoffmann on stage knows that they can expect a "rollercoaster ride through the whole soul".

We are looking forward to the concert evening and Hoffmann's inimitably curious view of life.

He will be accompanied by Nikolai Orloff on the piano.
