The (auto)biography of the popular actor, musician and entertainer Axel Prahl with numerous personal anecdotes and intimate insights into his life.

In his role as chief detective Frank Thiel, Axel Prahl ensures the highest viewing figures of all contemporary German television series, but this book by Knut Elstermann, which is composed of personal texts, observations and interviews with mother Rita, fellow actor Katharina Thalbach, Jan Josef Liefers, director Andreas Dresen and Axel Prahl himself, proves that he is not only popular with his audience, but also with his various colleagues and in his private life.

The collage tells of Prahl's origins, childhood and youth, his first experiences in the theater, his music and lyrics, friendship and love. Accordingly, the book completes the public portrayal of the actor, which only depicts a fraction of his personality, to create a multifaceted portrait that does him much more justice.

Knut Elstermann, born in 1960, studied journalism in Leipzig and has worked as a freelance presenter and film journalist since reunification, primarily for MDR and RBB (radioeins). He has written books and numerous features for television and radio, including on cinema in Israel and Russia and DEFA history. Knut Elstermann is a member of the Academy of Performing Arts.
