KO SHIN MOON - SÎN TOUR *live

Ko Shin Moon were created at the interface between traditional stringed instruments from Asia, the Middle East and North Africa and the spherical expanses of electronic sound generation. In their studio in Paris, they create otherworldly, hybrid melodies in which psychedelia, space disco and synth folk merge into an unusual mix. Their credo: eclecticism, cosmopolitanism and hybridity. They are now on tour with their latest album "Sîn", bringing a rousing mixture of psychedelic club music and hypnotic grooves to the Gretchen stage.

Their first, self-titled album was released in 2017 and was an attempt to explore traditional melodies and encounter them at the same time - by combining instrumental recordings and samples. A musical journey on which repertoires, genres and eras merged into a new language. The vision: to rethink listening habits through open borders.

In 2019, the French National Library invited Ko Shin Moon to develop new pieces based on its extensive and global sound archive. The only requirement: to work exclusively with shellac records in 78 rpm format. The result was her album "78 fragments".

On their third album "Leïla Nova" (2020), the band deliberately refrained from sampling in order to reassert themselves as a live band. The ten tracks trace a pilgrimage from East to West - a cosmic synthesis of different worlds and musical traditions.

Also in 2020, Ko Shin Moon launched the "Miniature" series on her own label Total Totem, a tribute to pop and folk cultures around the Mediterranean. Between 2022 and 2025, the band presented these works on an extensive tour with concerts in Europe, the UK, Canada, North Africa and Asia. During the tour, the band continuously composed and developed melodic fragments that they worked on live. Carried by the raw energy of the performances, a collection of new pieces emerged, nourished by the exchange with the audience and encounters with musicians. The result is her latest album "Sîn", in which a kaleidoscope of references unfolds, spanning different currents of psychedelic and electronic music and inviting you to transcend time and space.
