Lawrence (Isaiah Lehtinen) is a great film director. However, he has remained undiscovered until now; after all, he is only 17 and still at high school. Every Saturday he shoots funny little films with his best friend Matt (Percy Hines White) using stop-motion and slow motion. However, he has an unexpectedly difficult time with his high school graduation video. But he absolutely needs this degree to be able to study film at the Tisch School of the Arts in New York. In order to earn money but not stray too far from his passion for film, he works in a video store. He admires his boss, is even secretly in love with her, but disappoints her again and again. In the end, he finds himself all alone and has to painfully realize that life is not a film and almost always turns out differently than one imagines. In her debut film, Canadian director Chandler Levack presents a tragicomic portrait of a typical high school film nerd who dreams of a big career - and at the same time a coming-of-age story of a self-proclaimed outsider who has to learn that you can't really get anywhere on your own.
