In the organizer's words:
A legendary voice in Kurdish music history is coming to Berlin: Koma Amed live at SO36!
Founded in 1988 by medical students in Ankara, Koma Amed evolved from performing on small stages and at political gatherings to becoming the defining voice of an entire generation. Under the most difficult conditions, they recorded their first album, *Kulîlka Azadî*, in just one day. Their rebellious original compositions were interwoven with traditional Kurdish works. Their affiliation with the Mezopotamya Kültür Merkezi in Istanbul marked the beginning of a new phase. This was followed by seminal releases such as *Agir û Mirov* and the groundbreaking album *Dergûs*, which blended traditional sounds with global world music elements and continues to inspire musicians to this day.
After decades and the forced exile of some members, the band reunited after 27 years. We now have the opportunity to experience this historic moment together in Berlin.
