In this extraordinary concert program, works from Heinrich Schütz's Small Sacred Concertos are grouped around quantum physical phenomena.
Quantum physics has enabled insights and technologies without which the modern technical world would be inconceivable. For 100 years, research has been conducted into the smallest particles that defy classical laws when they change their state under extreme conditions.
Prof. Elena Hassinger (Dresden/Karlsruhe) will provide insights into this special field of modern physics. A multidisciplinary, intercultural ensemble under the direction of Gregor Meyer takes up the scientific, time-relevant impulses and works out the smallest units in the music of Heinrich Schütz in all their dazzling facets.
The program forges links between the music of the 17th century and themes from science and society.
