Konzert des Bundesjazzorchesters »Mountains and Melodies«

The Bundesjazzorchester presents an extraordinary project that focuses on cultural exchange between Germany and Armenia. Armenia, a country with a rich history, diverse culture and a lively jazz scene, provides the inspiration for "Mountains and Melodies".

Armenian composer and pianist Yessaï Karapetian and saxophonist, composer and artistic director of the Bundesjazzorchester Theresia Philipp are working together to develop a unique program that combines the musical traditions of both countries in a surprising way.

In August 2026, the young musicians will perform new works in Rheinsberg that have been specially composed for the renowned ensemble. The compositions combine openness, mutual inspiration and the joy of dialog. They reflect the diversity and dynamism of both cultures and invite the audience to experience the unifying power of music at first hand.

After the concerts in Germany, the journey continues: the Bundesjazzorchester will play the program in Armenia, creating a musical bridge with workshops, student concerts and joint sessions that reaches far beyond the borders of jazz. With "Mountains and Melodies", the Bujazzo is sending out a strong signal for artistic innovation, international encounters and cultural diversity.
