Konzert Identity Motion

3 AM is an experimental quartet that blends jazz, avant-garde, and electroacoustic sound exploration with influences from Latin American musical traditions. At the heart of their work are composition and improvisation as open-ended processes in which sound, identity, and cultural encounters are renegotiated.

With its new project “Identity in Motion,” the ensemble is developing a concert format in which music and contemporary dance engage in dialogue on an equal footing. Together with dancers Adam Chakir (Morocco), Andrés Cobaleda (Colombia), and Karina Tkachenko (Ukraine), they are creating a performance that makes experiences of migration, multiple identities, and social orientation tangibly perceptible through the senses.

The music ranges from structured compositions to free improvisation. Electronic soundscapes, acoustic instruments, and movement merge into a shared expression in which body and sound are equally vessels of memory, resonance, and communication. The starting point is the question “Where are we?”—a search for orientation explored not through definitive answers, but through encounter, movement, and shared experience.

With *Identity in Motion*, 3 AM aims to expand traditional concert formats and create new spaces for transcultural exchange. The performances take place in concert halls as well as in museums, off-spaces, and sociocultural centers, inviting the audience not only to listen to music but to experience it as a shared space of experience.
