tegn is the meeting of Magnus Munk Tækker and Jens Højbøge Mosegaard. The music is improvised and composed in the moment, but is also characterized by dogmatic, prepared approaches. Magnus' guitar is heavily influenced by the extensive use of effects, which sometimes obscures the original timbre and the cultural and musical connotations of the instrument - something the two find extremely exciting. This is balanced out by the very organic, deep and energetic drum sound. Inspired by ambient music as well as noise and rock, their music moves between melodic, fragile and heavy, insistent, droney soundscapes. They use both traditional and unconventional, non-idiomatic playing techniques, creating profound and dynamic soundscapes - always in the field of tension between the familiar and the new.

It was more or less by chance that cellist Lara Fleischer and saxophonist Tobias Brügge, both established figures in Münster's jazz and improvisation scene, came together again in the Halle/Leipzig area. With their duo project slightly out of shape, they have deliberately chosen a reduced and rarely heard line-up. The result is music that knows and processes tradition, but has so few predecessors that there is plenty of room for their own playing approaches. The focus is not on assertiveness or virtuosity, but on an open-ended interpersonal discourse and the courage to take risks, fail and find unconventional solutions. Just - slightly out of shape.
