KORORA & ALEX STOLZE

In the organizer's words:

On April 16, Korora and Alex Stolze invite you to an evening of sophisticated acoustic-electronic music at Nachtasyl. Hand-played sounds meet genuine emotions and beats that invite you to dance.

Alex Stolze is a formative voice in contemporary electronic music. As a violinist, producer and composer, he has built up a strong live reputation with numerous live concerts throughout Europe, including projects such as Bodi Bill and Dictaphone.

His performances place the violin at the center of an electronic setup. Loops, effects, synthesizers and beats are used to create an immediate, physical sound in which the instrument is not quoted but renegotiated - raw, present and changeable.

The last two releases on the Neue Meister label mark a clear artistic culmination: a reduced, personal aesthetic between structure and openness, characterized by emotional density and sonic precision.

The live concerts consistently continue this approach. They are intense, approachable and open to the moment - each concert as an independent, lively experience in direct exchange with the audience.

Korora's electronic music is both melancholy and hopeful. The title of the debut EP fits in with this: Hopium. Previous tracks have already received praise from established artists such as Christian Löffler, Ben Lukas Boysen and Ólafur Arnalds.

Anyone who regularly attends electronic concerts may have seen Korora on stage before Catching Flies, Nils Hoffmann or il:lo. The gigs are characterized by an expressive performance with a synthesizer case at the center, on which the music is played live - without laptops, without a net or a false bottom.

At Nachtasyl, the setup is supplemented by other instruments, including a specially developed glockenspiel organ, which has already been played on loan by Lisa Morgenstern at the Elbphilharmonie. All in all, this results in a very unique sound that is both spherically dreamy and rousingly energetic.

The EP Hopium will be released on April 10 on the London label Blank Dust. We will celebrate the release together on April 16th.
