What is actually happening on the site of the former Tegel Airport? A completely new district is being built on the huge site, a model district for sustainable, urban innovation. At the Infocenter Berlin TXL, anyone interested can see for themselves what the city of the future will look like and what is already happening here today.
A "city of the future" in the middle of Berlin? That's right - because urban life, living and working are being rethought here on the 500-hectare Berlin TXL site. With the Urban Tech Republic as a research and industrial park for green technologies, the Schumacher Quartier as a socio-ecological residential district and a huge nature and recreation area, Berlin TXL is one of the largest and most ambitious urban development projects in Europe.
The tour through the "PAST - PRESENT - FUTURE" of Berlin TXL in the Infocenter answers many questions and inspires new ideas: How will the former airport become an Urban Tech Republic? What characterizes the Schumacher Quartier as a forward-looking ecological and social model project in Berlin? And what is currently happening on the site?
The guided tour "Berlin TXL - Vision, planning, development of the city of tomorrow" through the exhibition invites you to discover, recognize and think ahead.
Would you prefer to look around yourself? No problem - in the digital interactive exhibition of the Berlin TXL Infocenter, anyone interested can gain a wide range of insights into the planning cosmos surrounding the subsequent use of the former Tegel Airport free of charge, even without a guided tour.
We look forward to your visit!
