Kreative Sterbefantasien | Wie wir lernen, über das Unaussprechliche zu sprechen
In the organizer's words:
Overview
⏱️ Schedule: Admission 18:30 → Talk 19:00 → Q&A → Mingle
🗣️ Language: German
We are all going to die. And yet we hardly ever talk about it - usually only in the mode of taciturn contemplation, cynical waving or sober organization. But what if there was a space in which we could curiously explore our ideas about our own death? A space in which we could shape them creatively - and enter into a genuine, intimate exchange with others?
In this talk, author Dennis Trendelberend takes us along to his experimental workshop "Creative death fantasies". He explains how we come up with a story about our own death, how we can deal with it in a playful way - and how deeply relaxing it can be to be told it by someone else.
This is neither a psychological classification nor a personal life story. It is an experience report and a reflection on an unusual workshop that deals with the idea of personal death in an imaginative and collaborative way.
What we will explore together
Together we will explore the following topics:
- The right words at last: How to meditatively become aware of, allow and share our ideas about our own dying.
- Creating instead of suffering: How we can reinterpret, play with and even joyfully experience the idea of dying - instead of letting it be determined by semi-conscious assumptions and fears.
- The magic of retelling: What happens when we trustingly hand over a personal story and have it told back to us.
- Embodiment and direct experience: The power of the connection between storytelling and physical experience - and why we may surrender to it.Dennis Trendelberend
- The healing power of collective presence: How integrative and transformative it is to show yourself to other people with an intimate story, to be seen by them and to feel held.

As an author, Dennis Trendelberend is constantly dealing with the topic of dying and the loss of loved ones. As a university lecturer for creative writing, he designs spaces in which people can exchange ideas about their texts and themselves. Linguistic exchange also characterizes his experimental workshops, which combine narrative and body-related approaches.
