A 19th century comedy about a lying village magistrate who molests a young woman and smashes a jug in the process - isn't that dry as dust and completely outdated? Not at all, according to the theater group on our stage, who set about staging the production with great enthusiasm. It's to be a big jug show, with music and ultra-modern! But it's not just the clay jug in question that is cracked - discrepancies soon emerge on stage too: Who is actually in charge of this group? Who decides the roles? Why does everyone allow themselves to be bullied by theater director BO and why does LIWO refuse to play Eve?
The levels become increasingly intertwined and disturbing parallels to the original play come to light. Watch out: there are threats, cajoling, blackmail and lies to the point that the beams bend. In an insane mixture of Kleistian and contemporary language, Krug. Zerbrochen! shows that people like the village magistrate Adam are still in the boardroom today - as long as we believe them.
