Kücknitz is and remains colorful

On Saturday, June 20, the festival "Kücknitz is colorful" will take place on the market square in Kücknitz from 2 pm.

The district of Kücknitz was created through immigration. Before Hochofenwerk Lübeck AG was founded, it is estimated that there were around 250 inhabitants in the area that is now Kücknitz. In order to operate the blast furnace, skilled workers were recruited, mainly from Silesia, houses were built, roads were paved and several thousand people were already living here when the Flender works were founded in 1917. After the Second World War, the district continued to grow as hundreds of thousands of people lived here in the camps for refugees and displaced persons and many of them stayed. Then came the guest workers, and they and their descendants also shape the cityscape today. Today, Kücknitz is an important district. More than 18,500 people live here peacefully together, hardly anyone whose family does not know a story of emigration, expulsion or flight. Kücknitz is and always has been colorful.

That's why the GMVK e.V. and the Kücknitz network group "Miteinander ohne Zoff" are inviting people to a cheerful festival for the second time on Saturday, June 20, from 2 p.m. on the market square in Kücknitz.

The event will be opened by Senator Pia Steinrücke and at 2:15 p.m. the dance group from Trave Grund- und Gemeinschaftsschule will get everyone in the mood for an entertaining day.
Whether it's hearty food from the Cuba Mosque or coffee and cake from the social association, you'll definitely get your fill and there will be a pub quiz in the meantime.

Exciting discussions can be held on the red sofa. Not only will there be a bouncy castle for the little ones, but there will also be bubbles, a wheel of fortune and a photo table with photos to take yourself, so that the adults can have a chat in peace.

The youth center invites you to the closing party at Haferkoppel 11 from 6 pm.
