Küfo: Die Dinge ändern wie sie sind – 7.4.-28.4.24

Collecting always speaks of passion. This can be a brief fire that quickly burns out or a flame that seems to last forever. For Roland Uphoff, the latter seems to be the case. The lawyer from Bonn has been collecting works of art for over 25 years and has been able to build up an extensive collection.
The exhibition "Changing things as they are" now provides an insight into this collection. The concept of the show is that the central works are by female artists who deal with the outdated image of stereotypical female roles. Another focus of the exhibition is on works that deal with current socio-political debates and contradictions.
From Caroleen Schneemann and works by Valie Export and Ulrike Rosenbach to the next generations of politically active female artists such as Cornelia Renz and Selja Kameric , a broad spectrum of critical positions from the 1960s to the present day will be presented.
This is juxtaposed with images of women by Thomas Schütte, "Frauen", 2006 and "Elisabeth I" by Gerhard Richter or the torso by Skender Hyseni, 2022.
In addition, artists such as Nohemi Perez and Chen Dandizi are currently exploring the question of how we deal with nature.

The exhibition is complemented by other young artists such as Tong Kunniao, Nevin Aladağ, Silke Albrecht and Lulita-July Dorn, who use various media, paintings, performances and installations to address social change.

This is the first exhibition in this format for Künstlerforum Bonn, which aims to present sophisticated private collections to the public.
