A culinary and literary Italian evening awaits you with a glass of wine and a two-course meal to match. The Italian author Vincenzo Latronico will read from his novel "The Perfections" during the evening

The evening will be hosted by Anna Vollmer.

"The Perfections" tells the story of Anna and Tom, a couple who have moved to Berlin from Italy to lead a free, unconventional life: they have an old apartment full of plants, love good food, work as freelancers and want to have as exciting a relationship as possible. Isn't everything perfect like that? Although they should be happy from the outside, they keep asking themselves whether there is more to it. The novel paints an unsparingly honest picture of a generation that is always in search of the perfect life and never really happy, but likes to pretend to be on social media.

Vincenzo Latronico, born in Rome in 1984, is a writer and translates authors such as Oscar Wilde, George Orwell and Isaac Asimov into Italian. His novel "Die Verschwörung der Tauben" was published in German in 2016; "Die Perfektionen" (translation: Verena von Koskull) was shortlisted for the Premio Strega.
