Culture, sound & coal flair for the 800th anniversary celebrations

A major anniversary is being celebrated in the Heinrich Robert creative district between the hammerhead tower and the former factory halls. Guided tours with the miners through the former colliery buildings and train rides across the site tell of 800 years of city history and 125 years of mining tradition and bring the site to life.

Live concerts, energetic dance shows and surprising performances bring movement to the area, while culinary offerings and creative stands invite visitors to linger. When the fireworks light up the sky, steel and brick shine in the glow of the night. Afterwards, an after-show party carries on the energy - a celebration full of sound, community and unforgettable moments.
