Kunst trifft Poesie: Polaroids, Malerei und Mixed Media

The multifaceted works of art by Marcel K. Bisdorf can be seen at the Spandau Project until February 28, 2025. They are accompanied by poetry by Frank Jaeschke.
The works on display originate from Marcel K. Bisdorf's creative process and reflect his interest in the nuances of human emotions. The selection includes Polaroids, abstract paintings and mixed media works that give visual expression to the profound themes of Frank Jaeschke's poetry collection, "A dam my eyes". The original texts cannot be seen directly in the exhibition, but the paintings unfold their very own effect on their own and thus always remain open to personal interpretation. The poetry book is available for purchase on site and allows visitors to experience the interplay between image and text.
Bisdorf, who has devoted many years to photography ("Strong Women", "Portraits", "Landscape", "Experimental Polaroid Collages"), painting ("Feelings during the Pandemic", abstract) and mixed media (social themes), is known for his experimental approach to Polaroid photography. In his series "The Art of the Polaroid", he redefines the medium by transferring photos to paper or wood through color manipulation, collage and manual processes. In this exhibition, Bisdorf's individual Polaroid photographs also show their versatile, experimental side and offer multiple views and exciting perspectives, for example by presenting them in the form of picture tiles.
Bisdorf's work unfolds an atmospheric mixture of intimacy and nostalgia that perfectly matches the poetry of Frank Jaeschke. The exhibition creates a space that invites visitors to consider themes such as transience and joie de vivre from different angles.
