On this evening, language can run riot and words can play hide-and-seek, jump childishly or suddenly become completely serious. Between portraits of little generals and toys, your own childhood memories collide with common notions of childhood from the last few centuries. And all of this is captured linguistically by three of the best poetry slammers in the country. At Word Meets Art, they will bring the works in the exhibition Kinder, Kinder! to life with their texts. Not a competition, but a shared amazement: the word artists were inspired by images of childhood from six centuries and formulated poetic responses to their impressions.
We start the evening with a relaxed warm-up and drink in front of the exhibition. Then we continue with a pointed art-historical impulse on the works or topics that the slammers have chosen. They then question many a scholarly perspective in their slam, offering us fresh, astute and critical interpretations.
After the literary flight of fancy, we invite you to a convivial drink in front of the exhibition. We look forward to getting into conversation with you and perhaps exchanging one or two new perspectives on art, childhood and words.
