On 08.12.2023, students from Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts and TU Dortmund University invite you to an intensive exchange at the Emerging Artists V - Biennale for Contemporary Art exhibition at uzwei in Dortmund U.
Over the past few weeks, teacher training students on the TU Dortmund University's Master's program and BA design students from Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts have been working on the selected art projects in this year's show and developing original concepts for activities such as talks, workshops and playful approaches: For example, the students invite you to a 'Waldmannsheil' or a journey into the past and weave 'Identitäsgeflechte' together, including a subsequent CLOTHING SWAP PARTY, organize a picturesque 'Dinner Party for Kids' and invite you to a dialogue under the motto "We Are The Dreamers of Dreams".

'Waldmannsheil'

The workshop discusses the global significance of the forest in CALVIN HEIN's immersive installation.Photographic material is used to create collages and new interpretations of the relationship between humans and nature.
The workshop is aimed at children and young people aged 11 to 16.(fully booked)
Fragments of the past
15:00-18:00
Based on the works of NANA SEEBER, the team invites you on a mental journey into the world of memories. Texts and drawings will create a new document and archive of the memories of the visitors to the action.
The open offer is aimed at all visitors.
Identity Weave & CLOTHING SWAP PARTY
16:00-18:00
MERVE BARAN's works deal with the (social) interweaving of identities. The student mediation team takes up this idea and negotiates it in an artistic-creative workshop on the subject of identity. In addition, a clothes swap party will take place afterwards, which will take up the textile thread of interweaving and interweaving anew. The workshop for children of primary school age combines the perception and experience of contemporary art with their own forms of artistic expression and exercises in group dynamics in a playful and creative way.
It is aimed at children aged 6 to 11.
"We Are The Dreamers of Dreams"

The offer is an interactive forum on VICTORIA JUNG's photo installation 'Fever Dream'. The student team asks: What happens when people's everyday lives are suddenly torn away by a catastrophe like Hurricane Katrina (2005)? How do they (survive), how do they carry on and what do they create in the midst of the new emptiness?
All visitors are welcome to reflect with the team and the artist on identity and being human in a shattered world. People of the post-war generation and queer people are particularly welcome. However, the open offer is aimed at all visitors.

Another Talking Heads action day will take place on 19.01.2024 from 15:00 at uzwei in Dortmunder U.
The Talking Heads cooperation recognizes the dynamics and thought processes that emerge from the examination of young art from cultural and educational perspectives and the applied fields of visual culture. This collaboration of educators and artists aims to provoke a multi-perspective and inclusive approach.
The education project for the exhibition Emerging Artists Dortmund V, curated by Linda Schröer and Andree Putz, is jointly led by Prof. Dr. Pamela C. Scorzin (Department of Design at Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts) and Dr. Sarah Hübscher (TU Dortmund University).
