The splendor of baroque Versailles, concentrated on the historical core instrumentation: "Fans of the finely blown double reed" will get their money's worth here, according to Bayerischer Rundfunk. The oboe band, reinforced by timpani and drums, plays French, Italian, English and German concerti and suites from the time of Louis XIV with great stylistic confidence.
