In the organizer's words:

We cordially invite you to the exhibition:
As part of LAB 3, seven artists from GEDOK Berlin are devoting themselves to the theme of upcycling. Under the title "Upcycling - The Punk of Art", they are showing works that are based on previously used materials, objects or found objects and give them new, artistic meanings.
In recent years, upcycling has developed into an international movement that poses new questions about sustainability, resource conservation and material cycles. The creative reuse of existing materials is also becoming increasingly important in art. What is thrown away, what is kept and what stories do things carry that have already had a previous life?

The participating artists take up these questions and develop individual positions between object art, installation, painting and experimental processes. This results in works that take a fresh look at the value of what already exists and show how something unexpected can emerge from what is supposedly obsolete.

A special component of the project is a collaborative installation that will grow on site during the duration of the exhibition. Visitors are invited to bring their own objects and thus become part of the artistic process. The development of this installation can be followed throughout the duration of the exhibition. Regular insights and progress will be documented via GEDOK Berlin's social media channels.
