A special evening between traditional soundscapes and modern urban sounds: singer Malika Alaoui and musician & producer Shalaby meet in a unique musical dialog.

From Malika's powerful a cappella voice - inspired by ancestral songs from North Africa and Eastern Europe - to joint improvisations and original compositions: Egyptian beats, guitar and modern and vintage sounds from

Egypt and the SWANA region merge into an intense live experience.

The LAfrikan Sessions are a jam session format by José Carlos Mayorga and are dedicated to the diversity of Latin American and African rhythms. An open space for music, encounters and making music together.

Malika Alaoui is a Swiss-Moroccan singer, composer and performer. She has worked with Stuart Hamm, Robert Fripp, Okwui Okpokwasili, the Berlin Biennale for Contemporary Art and the Neukölln Opera. As the lead singer of the Cirque du Soleil production "Alegría", she toured the world for four years:
