Lange Nacht der Konsulate im Generalkonsulat der Ukraine in Hamburg

In the organizer's words:

During the traditional "Long Night of Consulates" on April 30, 2024, the Consulate General of Ukraine in Hamburg will try to tell a little about Ukraine, more precisely about its resilience, which has amazed and admired many people around the world for more than two years.

It is precisely this resilience that makes Ukraine what it is today - courageous, unbreakable and self-sacrificing, freedom-loving and ready to defend a just peace and security in Europe.
Therefore, visitors will be presented with several exhibitions: from graphic works under the name "Cossack Crosses" by the lecturers of the Academy of Art and Design from the heroic city of Kharkiv about the historical milestones of Ukraine, to the photo exhibitions "Lost Childhood" about children killed in the Russian attack, and "Eternal February" about the fate of Ukrainians who found shelter in Germany.

Guests at the open night will also be able to see small artifacts of the Russian war that were handed over to the Consulate General from the combat zones of Ukraine.

The evening's musical entertainment will be provided by prominent Ukrainian artists: the soloist of the Hamburg State Opera Oleksiy Palchykov and the pianist Sofia Organesian, who will perform a series of melodic Ukrainian romances, as well as the folk group "Rodovit", which will sing authentic folk songs.

Thanks to the representatives of the Ukrainian community in Hamburg, we will learn how their activity not only helps the defenders of Ukraine, but has also become a mental support for them in the fight against the feeling of helplessness in the face of enemy aggression. Adapted clothing for the wounded, trench candles, camouflage nets - this is just a small list of the ways in which every civilian can contribute to the common cause.

Visitors can also contribute to the moral support of today's defenders of Europe by writing them a few words of encouragement on a card and/or making a paper crane - a symbol of wish fulfillment. Later, these loving gifts will be passed on to their destination.

The screening of the documentary "20 Days in Mariupol", which was the first Ukrainian film to win an Oscar this year, will begin at 9.00 pm.
Gourmets will be offered Ukrainian cookies and wine, and everyone can take part in a lottery of symbolic souvenirs from the Consulate General of Ukraine.
